Direct to Film (def) transfer
- Unlimited colours with great vibrancy
- Having intricate design and small text is not a problem
- Able to do short runs
- Fast Turnaround as quick as 4- 5 days
- More expensive than screenprinting for simple designs with high quantities
- 5 – 50 shirts with intricate designs and lots of colours.
SCREEN PRINTING
PROS
- An affordable way to do high quantity single design shirts (30 or more).
- Smallest text can be printed up to 5mm tall.
- Works best with 1 or 2 colours, additional colours is possible for an extra charge.
- Turnaround can vary depending on demand. Usually take but 2-3 weeks.
CONS
- Not practical for small quantities.
- Not able to individualise the shirts with nicknames or numbers.
PERFECT FOR
- 30 shirts + with 1 or 2 colour designs
DYE SUBLIMATION
PROS
- Unlimited colours
- The designs are printed onto a transfer material and sublimated directly into the fabric.
CONS
- Not cost effective for small quantities under 20 shirts.
- Lead time takes around 4 weeks.
PERFECT FOR
- 30+ shirts with intricate designs and lots of colours.
- Can be customised for each individual.
HEAT TRANSFER VINYL
PROS
- Good for small quantities of shirts up to 10
- The colours are vibrant and long lasting.
- Quick turnaround time. Usually only a 5-6 days
- Available in different colours including out Flouro, Metallic, Camo and Glitter.
- The shirts can be customised easily with names, numbers etc.
CONS
- Works best for simple designs with 1 or 2 colours. More colours are possible, but it makes it significantly more expensive.
- Smallest text size is approximately 20mm tall.
PERFECT FOR
- Quantities of 2 – 10, simple designs of 1 or 2 colours
